Many people are now travelling to exotic destinations or have complex itineraries. It is the patient's own responsibility to find out their individual requirements for these more complex vaccinations schedules or malaria advice.
You can access information on what vaccinations are required, together with malarial and safe travel advice at Fit For Travel.
Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.
A travel health risk assessment is also recommended for some people, even when vaccines or malaria tablets are not required.
You can make an appointment with a travel health professional via your local health board. Please be aware that your initial risk assessment may be over the phone or by video call.
